What is Prosthodontic Treatment?
Prosthetic dental treatment, also known as prosthetic dental treatment, is a treatment method designed to improve the person's quality of life and make them feel good in terms of aesthetics. In this treatment method, prostheses that fulfill the basic functions of teeth such as chewing and speaking are also effective in protecting the person's physiology and social life.

Dental health may be permanently or temporarily damaged due to genetic and environmental reasons. Especially in cases of problems resulting in tooth loss, different prostheses are used to ensure that the person can perform dental functions and eliminate aesthetic concerns. This application is performed by a dentist specialist.

Why is Prosthodontic Treatment Performed?
Prosthetic dental treatment is performed to give the patient an aesthetic appearance by replacing the teeth lost over time with new ones. Prosthetic dental treatment can be performed for the following reasons:

Prosthetic dental treatment plays a critical role in getting this mechanism back in order.
In addition, damage to the enamel layer, which ensures that the timbre of the voice sounds meaningful, can be repaired with prosthetic dental treatment.
In addition, prosthetic dental treatment can be performed to achieve the desired appearance of the aesthetically rough, misshapen, broken or bad-looking enamel area.
Thus, the treatment, which aims to renew the surrounding tissues inside the mouth, contributes to reaching the standard for the person's function, aesthetics and phonation characteristics.
To whom is Prosthodontic Treatment Applied?
Prosthetic dental treatment can be applied for aesthetic purposes to people who are missing teeth in their mouth or have loss of material and tissue from their teeth. In addition, it is a treatment applied to people who have lost teeth as a result of serious illnesses or a traumatic situation. In this context, the issues where prosthetic dental treatment is preferred can be listed as follows:

People who have severe physical and psychological problems due to enamel loss or defects
For people who want their aesthetic problems to be corrected
In enamel losses
Dysfunction that may occur gradually due to some diseases or traumatic problems
People who have deformities in their jawbone and who have difficulty in aligning their teeth or performing their functions.
By applying treatment, the person can live a normal life.

How is Prosthodontic Treatment Done?
In general, fixed, removable and implant-supported prostheses are effective in intraoral restoration. The aim is to provide the familiar enamel appearance through partial or complete operations. Material selection is decided based on the person's needs and oral infrastructure. Material selection basically centers around zirconium and laminate restorations. In this regard, prosthodontists decide on the selection of materials and methods in a versatile way. Fixed prostheses are generally made by following the following steps:

Individual measurement and preparation: The tooth to be restored is designed by shortening and adjusting it in the laboratory so that it is in its original form. Additionally, by following the precise measurement, the color tone is designed according to the enamel color.
Preliminary fitting: The compatibility test of the prosthesis made of material such as zirconium or metal is performed under intraoral conditions.
Final rehearsal with the patient: It is applied in the last step of the restoration. The connection between all teeth and tissues of the porcelain structure designed in the laboratory is checked. Aesthetic appearance of color, weight, texture and other conditions are reviewed. While touching the patient's face and smile, appropriate touches are made during the examination, and the patient's approval is also obtained. When this stage is completed, it is sent to the laboratory for polishing to shine the enamel structure.
Polishing and cementation phase of the prosthesis: After the restoration arrives from the laboratory, it is tested one last time in the mouth, and the patient's approval is obtained for the last time before proceeding with the fixation phase. After the prosthesis is fixed with the help of adhesive, the excess parts are cleaned. The restoration is completed with this application.
Informing the patient after the process: The duration of use of the restoration depends on the person's personal care and the health of the surrounding tissues. In this respect, the patient is informed about care techniques and the patient is called for an appointment for routine checks.
What are the treatment methods applied in prosthetic dentistry?
The methods used in prosthetic dental treatment can be listed as follows:

Bridge: The problematic enamel or loss is reduced by filing the teeth on the right and left sides, and then the bridge prosthesis is placed in the gap. It is among the most used methods and is referred to as the traditional method. This method is programmed to preserve enamel tissue compared to other alternatives.
Ceramic coating: This method comes to the fore if there is enamel deformation and regional damage such as decay or breakage. It is frequently preferred to eliminate aesthetic concerns.
Implant: It is a medical application that is placed on the inner part of the jaw bone with surgical methods using designed prostheses. In the wide frame, titanium-supported material is placed on the jawbone by screwing. One of its advantages is that it does not damage other neighboring enamels due to its single enamel design.
Crown: The process, briefly referred to as crowning, is known as filling or closing the gaps between the enamel. The enamel is cut to a certain extent and the coating is fixed on it.
Removable prostheses: It is referred to as palate prosthesis, it is applied in case of all tooth loss. Different prosthetic alternatives are used.
What are the Types of Prosthesis Used in Prosthodontic Treatment?
Prostheses used in fixed, removable or implant-supported applications in prosthetic dental treatment can be evaluated as follows:

Metal-supported porcelain coating: The interior of the material, which looks like porcelain on the outside, is made of metal coating. While material with minimal light permeability may be pleasing in appearance, it may cause problems in terms of creating an artificial environment. It is mainly used in the back areas because it gives a dark color tone.
Ceramic coating: It is one of the new generation coating types that is frequently used in terms of aesthetics. In addition to being a reinforced form of porcelain material, it can also be used predominantly in the restoration of the anterior sections due to its color matching.
Zirconium-focused coating: The light transmittance of the coating that is closest to natural is maximum. The outer appearance of the prosthesis, whose interior is made of zirconium material, is porcelain.
Implant: It is a procedure performed with titanium material nailed to the jawbone in cases where enamel loss is complete and prosthetic coating is not suitable. The enamel part of this nailed area can be completed with materials such as zirconium and porcelain.
What are the Advantages of Prosthodontic Treatment?
The advantages of prosthetic dental treatment can be listed as follows:

It helps to maintain the normal process by eliminating negative situations in vital functions such as chewing and speaking.
Aesthetically, it allows the person to use their smile and facial expressions.
Psikolojik olarak kişinin kaygı yaşamamasını ve iyi hissetmesine
Reducing the risk of contracting some diseases by protecting oral health
